Case Report of a Median Palatine Cyst

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors had a case of Median palatine cyst in 22 year old, Korean female.
1. Median palatine cyst revealed big size ´in--oral cavity with inflammation.
2. Radiographic examination revealed a large´ radiolucent, 3.5 X4.0 cm in diameter, in the midpalatal
area, with involvement of the anterior teeth.
3. The mass was firm, smooth, and fixed with some suggestion of fluctuation, and it was pain to palpation.
4. Removal of the resorbing upper teeth was indicated, and removal of the cyst was completed.
5. Histologic examination revealed a stratified squamous epithelium lining a thick dense fibrous capsule. The periphery of the capsule was cellular, composed of fibroblasts, fibrocytes and collagen fibers. The capsule showed many round cells in the loose connective tissue.
